Be Realistic
to ensure a successful, spectacular wedding

Be-realistic; Basic Rule #3

If you are planning a wedding you want it to be perfect. In order for that to happen there are some some basic rules that will help you ensure that the planning process and the wedding itself will unfold as you wish. On this page you can learn about my wedding rule #3, be realistic.

And in case you missed it here is the page with the first rule and the introduction to the topic.

In a perfect world the bride and groom would have their wedding exactly the way they want it, down to the minutest detail.

In the real world, however - while still making the wedding a wonderful one - there are considerations. You have to be realistic.

These considerations account for the circumstances of the bride, the groom - and their families - and will be something that the Planner will have to help mediate.

These considerations are:

  • The budget
  • Time available
  • Family
  • Religious
In our quest to be realistic about our wedding and wedding planning, we have to take into account all of these considerations. To do that, let's explore them below, starting with the Budget.

Budget Considerations:

For lots of folks, this is the elephant in the living room; the primary consideration that will affect every other consideration.

If the sky is the limit as far as spending for this wedding goes, don't bother even reading this section. Just remember that an unlimited budget does not necessarily mean a memorable wedding. Skip only this section, but read everything else!

If the wedding budget is a concern, and you're like most of us, with too many expenses and not enough income, then you want to read this; the wedding budget.

Time Considerations:

Ideally, it's great to have a year or more to plan a wedding, but sometimes that luxury is just not an option.

Here's more about time and your wedding planning.

Family Considerations:

Here's how family considerations affect the planning of the perfect wedding.

Religious Considerations:

Here's information on religion and wedding planning.

And what's the next rule, rule number 4, in planning a perfect wedding? It's delegate!
